The XRAY XT2D’28 is the latest generation of XRAY’s professional 1/10 scale 2WD electric stadium truck, developed specifically for racing on dirt and lower-traction off-road surfaces. Designed for serious competition, the XT2D combines XRAY’s precision engineering, extensive setup possibilities and premium materials with dirt-specific chassis, suspension and drivetrain characteristics.

While sharing the proven XT2 platform with the carpet-focused XT2C, the XT2D Dirt Edition is optimised to generate additional mechanical grip and provide smooth, predictable handling on surfaces where available traction can change significantly throughout a race meeting.

The XT2D is designed as a pure competition racing truck. Its chassis and component layout have been carefully developed to provide an excellent balance between steering response, rear traction and stability, giving racers a broad setup window for everything from smooth prepared dirt tracks through to more demanding outdoor conditions.

At the centre of the XT2D is a precision-machined aluminium chassis engineered to provide the flex characteristics required for dirt racing. Controlled chassis flex helps generate mechanical grip while maintaining sufficient rigidity for accurate and predictable handling.

The chassis layout also provides extensive tuning possibilities. Optional weights can be positioned around the chassis to alter overall balance and weight distribution, allowing racers to fine-tune steering, rotation and rear traction without making major changes to the suspension setup.

A competition-focused 2WD transmission efficiently transfers power to the rear wheels. The drivetrain uses lightweight components wherever possible to reduce rotating mass, improving acceleration and throttle response while maintaining the durability required for racing.

The precision gear differential provides smooth and consistent differential action and can be tuned using different oils to suit changing track conditions. Easy access simplifies maintenance and allows differential settings to be changed between races.

An adjustable slipper clutch provides additional control over power delivery and protects the drivetrain from sudden loads. This is particularly useful on dirt, where adjusting the slipper can help reduce wheelspin and provide smoother acceleration as track grip changes.

Suspension geometry has been developed specifically to provide the mechanical grip required on lower-traction surfaces. Multiple mounting positions for shocks and suspension links allow racers to adjust camber gain, roll centre, weight transfer and overall suspension response.

The front suspension provides a balance between responsive steering and stability. Adjustable caster, camber, toe and Ackermann allow steering characteristics to be tailored to the track, while multiple link positions provide further control over front-end grip.

At the rear, extensive geometry adjustments allow racers to tune forward traction and corner rotation. Camber link position, toe, anti-squat and shock settings can all be adjusted to achieve the desired balance as track conditions evolve.

High-quality aluminium oil-filled shock absorbers provide smooth and consistent damping. Precision-machined threaded shock bodies allow accurate spring preload and ride-height adjustment, while low-friction internal components help the suspension react quickly to small bumps and surface imperfections.

Multiple shock mounting positions allow damping characteristics and suspension leverage to be altered without changing the basic shock package. Different springs, pistons and oils can also be used to provide an extensive suspension tuning range.

The steering system has been engineered to minimise unwanted play while providing precise response. Adjustable Ackermann and steering geometry allow racers to change initial steering response and cornering characteristics to suit different dirt surfaces.

Electronics placement has been carefully considered to achieve balanced weight distribution. Motor, ESC, receiver and battery positioning help centralise mass while optional weights can be used to further adjust the truck's handling characteristics.

Premium materials are used throughout the XT2D. Precision-machined aluminium components, high-quality composite suspension parts, lightweight drivetrain components and competition-grade hardware provide the accuracy and durability expected from an XRAY racing platform.

A full set of high-quality ball bearings reduces drivetrain resistance, while lightweight rotating components help maximise efficiency and throttle response.
